There are certain colors we associate with this time of year: red and green, of course, are the primary ones. But there are others--gold, silver, white, and blue. Me? I like unusual color combinations, such as the lime green color of the Grinch and Whoville’s vivid pinks and purples.
Diamine somehow managed to capture this combination in today’s ink: Winter Miracle. Winter Miracle is a gorgeous deep purple, but it is a shimmer and sheen ink. So, it also contains vivid lime green sheen and gold shimmer.
Winter Miracle is a brilliant shade of purple on its own. But when you add in the green sheen and shimmer, it really is quite miraculous. Even on the Rhodia paper, which sometimes doesn’t show off sheen or shimmer, Winter Miracle’s properties are evident in all their glory.
I’m really taken with Winter Miracle. I love purple anyway, but the addition of lime green sheen makes me smile, and that gold shimmer adds an extra-special touch. If I do send out Christmas cards (I’m really, really bad about doing so), this is the ink I’ll use to address them. Or . . . maybe I’ll send out New Year’s cards. Or . . . Easter cards. On second thought, I’ll just use this ink to sign my Hogwarts students’ diplomas.
