I'm very fond of Lochby cases, specifically the Field Journal that I've been using for years. So I was excited to try the Quattro Pen Case that perfectly matches the field journal and makes an awesome companion accessory.

The case is constructed in their popular waxed canvas material with double stitching and honey-colored nylon lining. This pen case also boasts a velvety fabric lining interior that helps protect pens from getting any scratches.

The four pen sleeves are offset so that pens rest alongside each other, instead of directly opposite where they might bang together. It can hold up to four larger pens, but I'm currently using it for my Pilot Precise set, which fits two pens per sleeve. The sleeves are wide enough to fit non-pen items, too, like small pocket knives or other trinkets. There are also several pockets on the outside of the case. One is an exterior pen sleeve, one can hold a business card, and a velcro pocket on the back.

The whole case closes with a YKK zipper that has a nylon cord zipper pull on it, so everything inside stays nice and secure. The case overall is 4" by 6.7", so it also fits into a pants pocket, if your pants have decent pockets.

The case fits in the back pocket of the Field Journal, or slips into the inside pocket (though it then takes up the volume of the other interior pockets.) But it's also great as a standalone carrying case. I've been using it pretty much daily since it arrived, and I think that's likely to continue.

The case sells for $39, which is a little on the high side compared to similar products. It's still worth it and a good quality, but you can get similar cases in leather from companies like Galen Leather or plushier cases from Rickshaw Bagworks. I do like the rustic waxed canvas of the Lochby cases, though, and they're extremely durable and practical. The case also comes in Black or Navy as other options from the classic Brown.
